A Bride’s To Do List

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tom’s of Maine for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Teeth, hair and skin: the three things almost every girl starts to get a little crazy about as their wedding approaches. I’m no different. The mania has definitely set in.
I’ve been to my dermatologist more times this year than I ever have before. If I get one new blemish on my face I panic and suddenly this it’s going to be the thing that ruins my wedding. No one can know my face gets breakouts from time to time, NO ONE.
As for my hair, well I’ve done more at home treatments on it in the past six months than I can count. I haven’t cared for the past 27 years, but now I do. Trying to make up for lost time. Also, hoping my hair will somehow grow 10 inches in the next three months. Never mind that it hasn’t grown 10 inches in the last three years.
Now for the teeth. Would you believe me if I told you I had a meeting with an orthodontist to get invisible braces? Only for my bottoms. This would be my third set of braces in my life. It’s a classic story of my dog ate my retainers and for whatever reason I don’t have built in braces on the bottom row. I see my crooked teeth whenever I look at myself. But invisible braces were put aside when I got the estimated bill, which was very much so not invisible.
My dad told me that when he was a kid his parents wouldn’t pay for braces and so he just “pushed and pulled” at the teeth he wanted to move. Perhaps I should do the same? I tried it for about a week.  *It did not work, for either of us.
And so I’m doing what I can at home to brighten up my smile. I have to be pretty careful when choosing whitening products because some feel like I am sending bolts of electricity through my teeth. Some toothpaste makes my gums tingle and actually get blisters. So yes, I have a sensitive teeth and gums.
But recently I’ve found the perfect toothpaste at Target, Luminous White, by Tom’s of Maine. It’s perfect for me because it doesn’t hurt my teeth and it’s completely safe on enamel. It’s a also gluten and paraben free. I saw a noticeable difference in the color of my teeth in about ten days. And this is coming from someone who drinks coffee and red wine on the regular.

I’ve been of fan of Tom’s of Maine products for awhile now, because all products are free of artificial dyes, fragrances, flavors and preservatives, and are never tested on animals. I try my best to stay as far away from any company that tests on animals.

Beyond natural personal care products, Tom’s of Maine has been caring for communities, and the planet as a whole, for over 45 years. Earth Day was a few weeks ago and I think it’s important to remember to take better care of this planet we live on not just on April 22nd, but every single day we can. Even small changes like choosing the right toothpaste or an earth friendly deodorant such as North Woods can help.

This line is only available at Target, so next time you’re in, check out the Wicked Cool! product and grab the cartwheel offer while you’re at it!

I love Tom's! I'm still trying to get used to the fact that I still kind of smell a little when I use their natural deodorant, but at least it's sans all of that nasty stuff in regular deodorant 🙂

I got some Tom's toothpaste in either my Birchbox or Ipsy & I love it! I too have really sensitive teeth & it's hard to use any whiteners. 🙁

Order activated charcoal off of etsy-it's less than $10 and a koffie straw off of amazon. I shit you not, your teeth will be white af in no time. I drink 3 cups of coffee a day and the combination of those two things works amazingly!
