My Favorite Halloween

My favorite Halloween memory? Easy.

Any time I crimped my hair.

Least favorite Halloween? Any time I didn’t crimp my hair.

The above photo is from middle school, which was arguably one of my favorite Halloweens. We were at that perfect age when we were still young enough to get candy trick or treating (or so we thought) but we were also old enough to run around the neighborhood like a huge pack of little heathens, flirting with all the cute middle school boys.

I remember I got to stay out until 10:00 p.m. (which was crazy late for a school night) and it was the best thing ever. That is until the one girl who had developed boobs decided to let all the cute middle school boys feel them, thus stealing all the attention for the night. Boobs > crimped hair (to a middle school boy anyway.)

Naturally I devoted an entire diary entry to her a few days later.

Just for the record “Meg” let the guys feel her boobs over the top of her sweatshirt. A very thick sweatshirt. And if I remember correctly, they were actually just poking her boobs like a child would poke… well someone’s boobs.

However I sure thought I was the authority on who deserved to “suffer the consequences” and who didn’t. Such a judgy little thing I was, most flat girls were.

I was considered captain of the itty bitty titty committee so I had it out for girls who had boobs, it's understandable.

I remember a girl I knew in middle school let a boy touch her boobs in the hot tub and I couldn't get over how awful it was. There were def some diary entries about it…I even said "if I had boobs I would never let anyone touch them in a hot tub, even if I was married" clearly I was the authority on all things moral and pure…

your crimped hair makes me want to crimp my hair just for the hell of it the weekend.

  7. October 9, 2014 / 9:49 am

I was the girl with the boobs who got major shade from the flat chested girls and I never even let the boys touch them! lol

Your diary entry is hilarious. For the record, when I was in middle school I thought "going out" was dumb too, and even now I think the concept of middle school aged kids "going out" is still dumb!

Love the diary entry!! I love going back and reading mine! Middle school Amy would have been appalled too!

crimping the hair is way cooler than boobs are you kidding? i would rather have a crimper than a chest any day of the week. i also love that you have your old diaries. what a glimpse into the inner workings of your adolescent mind!

  11. October 9, 2014 / 10:07 pm

Oh wow can't believe you have your diary!! Those entries are always so fun to read from school days lol.

  12. October 10, 2014 / 12:23 am

Oh my gosh I literally laughed out loud at your diary entry! Thank you for that :-).

  13. October 10, 2014 / 2:31 pm

Love that diary entry. Too funny! "Going out" is overrated! Haha!

Thanks for sharing. Crimped hair FTW!
