The Bacon Chase

Last week I got invited to attend something in Chicago called the Chicago Bacon Chase. My first thought was, what is this and how have I never heard of it before? Perhaps it’s because I’m from Nebraska, or perhaps it’s just because I love things that taste good, but it will probably come as a shock to no one that I am huge fan of bacon.

So when presented with the idea of participating in a run that offered unlimited bacon at the finish line as well as unlimited bacon bits through out the race, I said sign me up. And then I found out you also get a Bloody Mary just for participating in the Bacon Chase and my heart really melted. A race that gives you free bacon and a Bloody Mary? It’s as if this event was made just for me. And did I mention you have the option of running a 5k or a .05k. How perfect is that?

But then my whole world came crashing in when I found out the race in Chicago is going to take place this weekend, Saturday June 7th when I will be in Colorado so I don’t get to participate this year. But you better believe I am already going to mark my calendar for next year. If you don’t live in Chicago don’t fret, I found out that there are Bacon Chases all over this wonderful country of ours!
