Choosing the right line at the airport can really make or break a day. I was thinking this as I stood in the wrong security line at Denver International Airport earlier this morning. I accidentally chose Tammy Likes To Talk A Lot TSA Agent who insisted on getting everyone’s last detail about their trip as she scanned their boarding passes. I appreciate a friendly TSA agent as much as the next person, just not when I’m in a hurry trying to get through security. And when isn’t someone in a hurry in the security line?
Anyway, last weekend was yet another fun one. I’ve decided I’m a big fan of Colorado.
On Friday my mom and I had sangria by the pool at our hotel, The OMNI. But don’t let the shorts fool you, it was barely 60 degrees outside.
And on Saturday night I told some jokes at Crossroads Tavern. I was so happy to see that so many of my old college pals came out to watch. Reunions are always a fun time. The pic is a bit grainy, but such is the case with bar pics. Don’t you like the Insta filter I used on myself below? It’s a new one called “Scary Pale.”
I also met some new friends like this gal some of you might know as Sami Shenanigans. Sami even brought some of her Colorado friends along to watch which was pretty damn cool of her!
And as usual when on vacation, I did a little bit of eating and drinking as well.
I don’t often do buffets, but when I do, I do them right. And by that I mean I just get a plate full of meat. Sorry, vegetarians. I’ve tried a few times to give up meat but the Nebraska inside of me just won’t allow it.
And my mom is rocking her Home T. Obviously.
Now I’m back in Chicago struggling to jump into the grind of Monday. And Harlow isn’t exactly helping any. He gets a little needy when I’m away and so this is how he’s sat for the past hour as I’ve tried to type this post. He hits my space bar every once in awhile to remind me to pet him. He’s a clever one.
It’s time to tackle a new week. Or something like that…
I am always in the wrong line at the airport. The last time I flew, I got on line like a normal person, and my mother, sister, and her friend somehow got ushered right through via some special line I was not invited on. Not sure what happened there.. But I'm jealous of your 60 degree weather. I'm not adjusting well to summer in the city temperatures. It looks like you had a fun weekend and Harlow is the cutest!
Looks like a fab weekend! And there is that diva on your computer!
picking the wrong line will straight up ruin my day. last time i walked around the airport until i found a satisfactory line. plates full of meat and a bloody mary- you can't go wrong. glad to see your time in CO was a success!
Mmmm. That bloody mary… Mmmmmm.
So glad to meet you and see you in action! It was a great time!
You are so right about the line at the airport. That's a day destroyer for sure.
Glad you had a great weekend, though!
Aww he's so cute! haha. Sounds like you had a great trip! Congrats on following your dreams hun!
My cat, Fuzzy, does something very similar. He likes to lay on my right arm when I am typing. As you can imagine, that pretty much crushes my productivity.
I'm loving your blog! Just thought you should know.
That plate full of meat looks heavenly 🙂
And it never fails.. I always end up picking the wrong line at the airport.. the grocery store… in traffic.. ALWAYS!
I have super amounts of luck at DIA. Never a wrong line yet.

Harlow is so cute! Looks like you had a great weekend….p.s. I'm a big meat eater too!
You always find the most delicious looking Bloody Marys! I love them and whenever I go somewhere new I order them hoping for a good one. They usually suck and are *maybe* garnished with a lime. A stick of celery is pushing it. Guess I will just stick with making them at home…
Picking the wrong line is the easiest way to ruin your day! But I'm glad the rest of your trip was so great 🙂
Stop!! I love Colorado!! I want to live there so badly! I am jealous of your trip (minus the whole airport thing…)
I am one of those people if there are more than one line I will pick the wrong one, it is just the luck I have.
