It’s raining it’s pouring, the old man is snoring…
Anyone else think that perhaps that is kind of a weird song for children to sing? I was humming it today out of nowhere when it dawned on me how bizarre those lyrics are. Anyway, I am one hundred kinds of distracted today so I’m going to take a cheat and just post five things that are going on right now. And to make up for such a dumb post I’ll wrap it up below by giving away five of my favorite things, as well. (You know, to go with the whole five things theme…)
#1. Chris asked me this morning if my coat was a bathrobe. It’s not. And apparently it’s not nearly as cool as I originally thought it was. Thanks Chris.
#2. It’s supposed to rain all day and I don’t hate it. Harlow, however does. He is such a baby he absolutely despises the rain. The other night we came home and it was pouring so hard he literally refused to get out of the car. I finally had to carry him inside, and believe you me, he fought me the entire way in.
#3. It is yellow all around my neighborhood.
#4. Except for this one little pink tree at the park who refuses to conform, but is shedding her leaves far too fast. Stay strong, pink tree! Stay strong.
#5. Rain is dripping down the windows, I’ve got an apple cinnamon candle burning, green tea brewing, and I’m feeling jolly. So in an attempt to spread my jollies, I just decided spur of the moment to give away five of my favorite things. It’s nothing big by any means, but sometimes it’s the small things that make me the happiest. Maybe you feel the same way too.
Up for grabs: (one winner takes all)
1. Raymond Waites Makeup Bag 2. The Perfect (Not) Paper Coffee Cup 3. Soy Candle by Seed (best candles ever!) 4. Ginger Bread Bath Bar 5. “just a little note” Note Cards
As always, thank you so much for reading. Happy hump day.
I want that pink tree. Inside of my apartment.
I like your coat! And I am jealous of your colorful neighborhood. Florida doesn't have much in the way of Fall colors.
Your neighborhood is so pretty with all of the yellow… we have bright red one's everywhere but sadly they don't last long.
I tried on a very similar coat at the store and my boyfriend made the same bathrobe comment. I still love it though.
All I want to do is spend all my time staring at trees. Too bad I have to work, sleep, etc.
My dogs will not go out in the rain. We have to shove them out the basement door into the yard.
That pink tree is so pretty especially since it is among so many yellow ones! Seamus is such a wimp in the rain, he has a long coat so he hates to get wet. He loves the bath though.
Your coat is adorable. Guys hate trench coats somehow, I just know it! When I put one on my boyfriend told me I looked like I was dressing up as a stripper so a bathrobe is better!
I honestly had no clue how beautiful Chicago is in the fall!! That pink tree is gorgeous! And Chris is crazy, I love your jacket.
Your photos are gorgeous! I'm so envious of your beautiful fall foliage in your neighborhood. In Houston, it's bright, sunny, and the trees think it summertime! And our dogs refuse to go out in the rain. Wimps 🙂
The tree is gorgeous! The one in front of my house just turned pumpkin colored this week and it's awesome. And I don't think your coat looks like a robe at all!
i need a vacation to chicago. and now you have that song stuck in my head.
That pink tree is awesome and so is your giveaway!
I just entered every single entry. Guess when the last time I ever did that was? Never. I better win Taylor.
Gorgeous foliage! It's so sad when the leaves are all gone and there's no more prettiness 🙁
Great giveaway, I've been wanting to try out soy candles.
Hump day! I looove the Fall and all of the beautiful colors. I like how you appreciate the pink tree. It sure stands out from the fella trees. Lol yes they're fellas. Thanks for such a lovely post. It made me feel warm and fuzzy. Enter me for the giveaway please 🙂
This needs to be an advertisement for fall or something.
Oh I love the yellow leaves on the trees with dark colored bark, so pretty. You live in the prettiest neighborhood. Also, great giveaway!
Try putting a coat on Harlow when it rains. He will stay dry 🙂
You look adorable and just perfect for rainy weather!! And holy gorgeous. Those trees!!! Such pretty colors!
xo
1. what an adorable and sweet giveaway!
2. I love your coat! It does not look like a bathrobe.
3. I just love harlow.
that is all.
That pink tree is just gorgeous! And makes me wish for just a second I lived a little further north.
Someone has said the exact same thing about my coat that looks similar to that, and I quickly thought the same thing you did!!
those yellow trees (and that pink tree!) are my favorite! 🙂
Great photos! I love the coat.
You're like Oprah! Do we all get cars??
So colorful!!
Glad I stopped by! Thanks for the random giveaway lol
I really like your coat!! I actually just looked at one like it. And poor Harlow hating the rain… my doggy kicks his feet funny when the grass is wet in the morning. I laugh at him, because I'm just that nice. Hehehe. I'm loving the trees and all their colors! I wish I had a pink tree, I'd take a million pictures of it 🙂
That pink tree is gorgeous and I absolutely love your coat – it does NOT look like a bathrobe at all!

Your neighborhood looks BEAUTIFUL, I love Autumn. And men don't understand fashion– that's why they're so nice to have around sometimes. PS– what kind of dog do you have? He kind of looked like a Rhodesian Ridgeback, couldn't tell…
For the record, I like your coat. And your dog. And everything about this blog. I just stumbled across it and I love it. I really enjoy the way that you write. You're like, a blog-spiration for me 🙂 (Yes, I did just say that). Anyway, I look forward to reading more posts!
Your newest fan,
Autumn

When I wear my trenchcoat, my husband tells me I look like April O'Neill from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…..
{i don't think your coat looks like a bathrobe}
