Yesterday went something like this:
I picked up this beauty from the airport around noon. Harlow absolutely loves her as you can see. Although he gets a little confused when I talk to her because my “Lola voice” is the same as my “Harlow voice” it turns out.
Lola was thrilled to be at lunch with just the girls. She apparently has had a long couple of weeks at the office and was really looking forward to getting away for a few days. She really gets after the bottle hard, if you know what I mean.
So we had a few toasts in honor of Lola’s first trip to Chicago.
Then she and I had a talk about why her big brother is being so ornery as of late. I made her promise me to never go through the terrible-twos, she can save that for the terrible twenty-twos.
And after we had a very nice stranger take a photo of the three of us we walked a few blocks down the street to my favorite little French restaurant, Mon Ami Gabi.
Because it was a gorgeous evening, we were able to sit outside- which was perfect because Mon Ami has a wonderful little patio that sits right across from the park.
We had some seafood and some dirty martinis. I don’t love dirty martinis yet, but I’m trying, damn it. I do, however, love the blue cheese olives that come with a dirty.
And then Grizzly Adams joined us for a drink or two. I wish this photo wasn’t so dark so you can see the lovely beard Chris is growing. He said forget Beardvember, he’s getting a jump on it and going for Beardtober. I don’t hate it.
And there’s a little photo overload for you. Happy hump day! *And just for the record, Grizzly Adams did have a beard.
A few things:
(1) I love the name Lola and want to squeeze her!
(2) I absolutely love your hair in that first pic of you and your momma!
(3) Your mother is a BOMBSHELL!
Bitches (us) love beards.
Lola is precious, my fave is the one with harlow. i talk to babies like I talk to dogs too. it's confusing. Michael is growing a beard but I don't like it. he looks like grizzly adams strange uncle.
I can relate to the baby talk/dog voice -aka- high pitched squeal. You look stunning in all of those pictures! I hear ya on not wearing makeup or doing your hair. I too feel like a brand new woman when I pull myself together and spruce up a bit.
That baby is gorgeous! I'm jealous that you have a baby to play with – my niece and nephew are too old now 🙁
And I concur. I would also be an ahi tuna-topped bark-eater.

Love Harlow trying to snuggle with Lola!
Aw that picture with Harlow snuggling Lola is too cute! Looks like you guys had a great time 😀
That's funny Chris got a jump on beardvember! I've been telling John he needs to do no-shave November, at least until he told me that it was just a mustache to which I replied heck no! But I don't want him to shave in November, ha ha.
Oh goodness. Lola is one cute baby!!!! And I want to eat all of the food that you posted, thanks.
xo
Oooh! I've never been to either of those restaurants. Now I'll have to make my way over there. Looks like such a fun day 🙂
Lola is so darn precious! Her expressions! Also, I gotta say… you girls have amazing hair (and in Lola's case – hair accessories!).
Lola is just so cute!! Her little outfit is adorable too!

what a fun day! your hair is sooo pretty!
I LOVE how little Lola is sitting with her hands on the table!! She looks like she had a pretty rough week 🙂
Who doesn't like a post that has a bloody cute baby in it…………….she is so adorable you could just squeeze her.
Lola is too cute, and love the name. What a great pic with you and your Mom. I use to hate beard but I gotta say I have seen a lot of dudes rocking the beard and I am not hating it.
Lola is so on top of things.. she's obviously the life of every party and is living it up in Chicago!
