1. Because 10 years ago you most likely weren’t settling into your Monday morning by reading a few blogs.
2. You also weren’t checking Twitter, Instagram or Facebook…
So how on earth did people waste time on Monday mornings is what I’d like to know?
3. You could have been texting, but there’s a good chance you didn’t have texting on your plan yet so you were probably just playing Snake, instead.
4. At least you had Get Low to jam out to on the radio. Or Ignition. Or Crazy In Love.
5. And you could change into a comfy velour tracksuit when you got home…
6. With Uggs of course.
7. Reality TV? You got it! How about that cute family show The Osbournes?
I remember when this first premiered I was so confused. I just couldn’t grasp the concept of cameras simply following a family around acting as “themselves.”
And Kelly, AKA queen of fashion police, you may forget the early 2000’s but we haven’t.
8. But because reality TV was just too weird for me I was more into The O.C.
Mischa, where are ya girl?
9. And the Bachelor was only in it’s 3rd season (Andrew Firestone)… But it was probably the most dramatic season ever, never the less.
10. But most importantly, the biggest indicator that today is better than 2003 was the fact “My Space” was our main social media platform of that time.
Anyone else remember Tom?
That’s all I’ve got, go take on your Monday.
Wait, I'm not supposed to wear my velour Juicy pants still?
ohhh my space. i wonder how tom is doing these days?
Haha Myspace. Oh dear, I remember when that was THE big thing. I'm glad things have changed in that respect.
Mischa, she definitely peaked around season 2 of the OC.
True life i got a velour track suit for christmas last year.. I'm not saying I actually wear it out of the house but you know it's comfy!!!
I think I actually removed from my myspace friends, I'm a rebel like that
Snake was the bomb back in the day. But you're right, Mondays are so much better now! Life in general is just better.
Myspace where you could customize your profile with cute images from around the web, I'm kind of glad I don't myspace anymore.
Snake! Velour track suits! Tom! The freakin' Osbournes! Sheesh. Hallelujah!…so glad it's 2013 and we're weirdly dependent on social media 😉 thank you Zuckerberg!
I remember Tom and The OC. I watched that show religiously. Where is Mischa??? I think the Firestone Bachelor was one of the last times I watched that show! No, I take that back. I watched the Melissa Rycroft debacle one and I think that was the last one.
Thank goodness for blogs to read. It has totally allowed me to waste away most of the morning!! Stop trying to make MySpace happen! hehe 😉
This was so funny! Thanks for posting
i miss tom.
Haha you definitely made my Monday better!
-I was totally an OC fanatic. loved it!
-can we ever remember the THIRD season of the Bachelor? That seemed like Eons ago…
-snake was my bff seeing as I didn't get texting on my phone until 2008!
Aw Tom. I wonder whatever happened to him…
I heard someone saying that they had to check their myspace the other day.. I stopped dead in my tracks and had a look of confusion on my face like I wasn't sure if I had pooted or sharted– it was super weird and I would prefer it never happen again.
my mom exclusively wears velour when she travels. every time i pick her up from the airport and she is in her track suit i mistake her for a kardashian.
I loved that season with Andrew Firestone!
Wow how did i almost forget about The OC?!
Alisha @ The Alisha Nicole
oh velour track suites, those were the days! Happy Monday!
My Uggs are sitting my closet waiting to be pulled out (to be donated to Goodwill).
Haha, Tom – remember him!!!! Such a good old blast from the past and such perfect timing as I just had my 10 year high school reunion from 2003! x
I was so obsessed with The OC! I miss that show.. I still can't believe they killed Marissa off. It definitely went all downhill from there.
snake? yup. Tom? yup. The Osbournes? yup. THanks for taking me back. wayyyyyyy wayyyyyyy back.
Now you have me wondering where my Blue velour track "outfit" went.
Ah, how I miss the early 2000's. Mostly because Nsync was a huge part of my existence. I miss the good ole' Tom Days…
I actually heard Get Low on the radio the other day, pretty surprising. Happy Monday!
Hahahaha I love this whole post!!
MySpace! I remember those days…
Reviews Until You Drop
True dat! But I do miss the Osbournes and some OC 😉
Hahahaah! Oh girl, you made my Monday! This is all so true! I don't know what people are complaining about! Maybe in 10 years we will look back and reminisce ridiculous things that now we think are the bomb.

Is it sad that 2003 seems likes yesterday, and then I remember I was 23 then and times had not in fact, stood still. At least I still get carded!
Well what can I say, will we look back at 2013 in 10 years time and think how did we get by without……………I know I wonder how we ever got by without texting, hell I wonder how we got by before mobile phones………..yeah I am that old
Hey Tay! I'm thankful for you giving me something entertaining to read on Monday mornings (and everyday)! So much so that I nominated you for a Liebster award over on my blog. Please check it out and answer the questions for me!

I'll definitely take a 2013 Monday over a 2003 Monday… except hmm, without the "case of Monday's" being such a big deal on blogs, FB, and Twitter, I wonder if Monday's seemed so bad back then… oh well, better to be enlightened 😉
Fun story: My husband actually asked me out via myspace. Well, it was more like "so… should I change your relationship status on myspace?"
Good Lord.
But yes, everything you said, yes.
XO, Samm
